Jenna Teti CPDT-KA, PMCT-1
In the story of my life, there are dogs in every chapter. My first word was "woof" and ever since then my life has been filled with countless canine characters. As a child, when I wasn't begging (ok, nagging) my parents for a dog, I spent hours in my bedroom studying book after book of dog breeds, and there, my life as a dog nerd began.
My training career began in 2013 in the New York City area where I eventually started and ran my own business offering private one-on-one training services and community education classes. In 2016 I moved to Boulder, CO where I worked at the Humane Society of Boulder Valley in the Training & Behavior Department. I gained valuable knowledge getting the chance to work with a wide variety of dogs on a daily basis and working with an incredibly talented team of trainers. I formed Think Smart Dog Training in 2018 and once again offer private training and community education classes.
I’ve studied under renowned trainer and behavior consultant, Pat Miller, and graduated from her 3 levels of trainer academies, including one focusing on aggression cases, to become a Pat Miller Certified Trainer.
In addition to my two professional certifications, I am also a proud member of the Pet Professional Guild ensuring that I am committed to using humane training methods that never involve the use of fear, force, or pain. I am also a Fear Free Certified Professional, a supporting trainer to a growing movement in the veterinary field to reduce the amount of fear, anxiety, and stress an animal experiences when going to the vet.
I hope to bring out my clients' inner dog nerds and equip them with the knowledge and skills needed to develop and nurture a strong bond as well as work through any behavioral issues effectively. Most of all, I hope to make learning and working with your dog a positive experience for all! Check out what services I offer here!
I'm also a professional photographer. My favorite subject? You guessed it! Dogs! You can check out my photography here. When I'm not training dogs or snapping photos, you can find me hiking and exploring with my boyfriend and our dog, Reuben.
